Psychological
Evaluations

CARES provides comprehensive psychological evaluations of an individual's emotional and psychological functioning. Psychological evaluations can be useful for therapists who require assistance in preparing a comprehensive treatment plan or selecting the most appropriate type of therapy, or psychiatrists who require diagnostic clarity for medication purposes. Psychological evaluations can also provide information useful when applying for financial assistance programs such as SSDI.

A psychological evaluation includes an interview with the patient and/or family members who can provide detailed information regarding the patient's history and current functioning. Next, the patient is interviewed. Finally, the patient undergoes psychological testing, which typically takes 1 hour. The testing is computerized and can be completed by the patient in their home.

After the evaluation has been completed, a report is prepared within 2 weeks. The patient will receive a 1 hour session reviewing the details of the report.
