Neurodevelopmental Evaluations- Children

ADHD/Intellectual Functioning

CARES provides comprehensive intellectual assessment and ADHD evaluations to children age 6 and above.

Evaluations can be tailored to each child's needs, but typically include an assessment of verbal and nonverbal comprehension; attention and concentration; executive functioning; and adaptive functioning.

Each evaluation begins with an interview of the parent(s) or legal guardian who can provide detailed information regarding the child's history and current functioning. This typically takes an hour. Next, the child undergoes cognitive testing, which typically takes 1-2 hours. The evaluation can be completed in one session or in multiple sessions, depending on the child's stamina and parent preferences.

After the evaluation has been completed, a report is prepared within 2 weeks. The parents receive a 1 hour session reviewing the details of the report.
